This oil is produced from the wood by a steam distilling method on the Cedarwood Evergreen Tree originating in Morocco. It will produce a woody, but sweet scent slightly reminiscent of mothballs. Many products in Northern Africa are constructed from cedarwood including wooden chests. Ancient Egyptians prized the oil and mainly used it for embalming (mummification) purposes, as well as cosmetics and perfumery.
